Dubai Fashion Week SS27 Ends on a High Note: A Finale of Italian Elegance, Vietnamese Femininity and Indian Couture

Dubai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 has come to an end, concluding another season that once again lived up to expectations. From the international line-up and diversity of creative voices to the scale and impeccable organisation of the shows, DFW maintained the high standard that has become its signature. The closing day brought together three very different fashion perspectives from Italy, Vietnam and India, providing a fitting finale to an event that continues to strengthen Dubai’s presence on the international fashion calendar.

Co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3), part of TECOM Group, and the Arab Fashion Council, Dubai Fashion Week has evolved into a meeting point for designers, industry professionals, international media and guests from around the world. SS27 once again demonstrated the cosmopolitan nature of the event, where different cultures and design traditions can share the same runway without losing their individual identities.

The final day opened another chapter with Christopher Italy, whose SS27 collection drew inspiration from the refined beauty of Italian gardens. Sunlit shades, carefully considered details and fine leather craftsmanship shaped a vision of contemporary Italian elegance, expressed primarily through bags and footwear.

Adding star power to the presentation was Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey, Miss Universe 2015, who appeared on the runway and became one of the memorable faces of the closing programme.

From Italy, the fashion journey moved to Vietnam. Joséphine presented Le Jardin de Joséphine, a ready-to-wear collection that, like Christopher Italy’s showcase, found inspiration in the world of gardens — yet interpreted the theme through a distinctly feminine perspective. Elegant silhouettes, delicate details and contemporary forms created a romantic but modern vision of womenswear.

The honour of closing Dubai Fashion Week SS27 went to one of India’s most celebrated designers, Tarun Tahiliani. His show, The Many Moods of TT, looked back at three decades of work while demonstrating the designer’s enduring ability to bring Indian craftsmanship into conversation with contemporary fashion.

Bridalwear, occasion wear, menswear and couture came together in a presentation that moved between heritage and modernity. Kaftans, elongated coats, elaborate headwear and richly crafted looks created a finale with the sense of occasion expected from the closing show of an international fashion week.

Lebanese singer and actress Maya Diab appeared as the showstopper, bringing an additional touch of glamour to the runway. The presentation also marked an important moment for the house of Tarun Tahiliani ahead of the opening of its first boutique in Dubai.

The closing day captured much of what defined the entire SS27 edition: international dialogue, craftsmanship, cultural diversity and the ability to move effortlessly between different interpretations of contemporary fashion. Throughout the season, designers from different parts of the world brought their own stories, traditions and aesthetics to Dubai, turning the runway into a genuinely global platform.

And, as always, Dubai Fashion Week delivered not only through the collections themselves but through the atmosphere surrounding them. The production, locations, guests and international energy once again created the sense of a major fashion event where every detail is part of the experience.
