Fabrice Moizan Takes the Helm at Le Bristol Paris as the Palace Enters Its Second Century
Le Bristol Paris has entered a new chapter in its history. On September 28, 2026, Fabrice Moizan officially took up his role as President and Managing Director of the legendary Parisian Palace, one of the emblematic properties of Oetker Hotels. His arrival comes at a symbolic moment: having recently celebrated its centenary, Le Bristol is now embarking on its second century.
From Saint-Barthélemy to Paris
Before moving to Paris, Moizan spent more than a decade at the helm of Eden Rock – St Barths. There, he worked alongside the hotel’s founders, David and Jane Matthews, and later played a central role in one of the most challenging chapters in the property’s history. Together with his long-standing deputy Jean-Alexis Costa, now promoted to Managing Director of Eden Rock, he oversaw the hotel’s reconstruction following Hurricane Irma and subsequently guided it through an impressive period of growth.
Under their leadership, Eden Rock was repeatedly recognised among the world’s finest hotels. Yet Moizan’s career in hospitality began far from the Caribbean, at Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy Deauville. Over the years, he built a distinguished career in luxury hospitality, earning wide recognition within the industry. In 2025, he was named Hotelier of the Year at DUCO France.
Hotelier of the Year.
A More Natural Vision of Luxury
At the heart of Moizan’s philosophy is a particular idea of luxury — natural, spontaneous and free from unnecessary formality. In his vision, excellence should be felt rather than displayed, while exceptional service begins not with rigid protocol but with sincerity, kindness and the ability to recognise exactly what a guest needs at the right moment.
This approach finds a natural home at Le Bristol Paris. For Moizan, the Palace is more than a hotel: it is a Parisian residence shaped by continuity, memory and the people who have devoted years — sometimes decades — to the Maison. Some members of the team have welcomed generations of the same families, watching children return years later as adults. It is this sense of recognition that transforms a stay into something closer to a homecoming.
One of the examples that captures this spirit is Jean-Marie Burlet, who has been welcoming guests in the lobby for more than 35 years. What matters is not simply the greeting itself, but the ability to remember a guest — a face, a conversation, a detail. Such emotional memory cannot be manufactured or scripted; it becomes part of the identity of the hotel.
A Return to His Roots
Taking the helm of Le Bristol also has a deeply personal meaning for Moizan. His mentor, Pierre Ferchaud, managed the Palace for nearly two decades. Ferchaud’s meticulous attention to detail and his principle of always seeing the experience through the guest’s eyes had a profound influence on Moizan’s own understanding of hospitality.
For the new President and Managing Director, leading Le Bristol is therefore both a professional milestone and a return to his roots. His ambition is not to reinvent a century-old institution, but to bring fresh energy while respecting the extraordinary heritage that has made the hotel one of the most recognisable addresses in the world.
The Art of Living at Le Bristol
Le Bristol
Moizan’s vision of the hotel is closely connected to the experiences that give Le Bristol its distinctive character. A perfect day here might begin with a morning workout followed by breakfast at Epicure as Paris wakes up, then coffee at Café Antonia. A visit to the concierge could include an encounter with Tony Le Goff — and, with a little luck, Socrate, the hotel’s resident cat.
The afternoon belongs to the rooftop swimming pool overlooking Montmartre, followed perhaps by a visit to the Ateliers and the wine cellar with Francesco Cosci. As evening arrives, there is time for a Negroni at Le Bar before returning to Epicure, where the movement of the kitchen can be observed from Chef Arnaud Faye’s office.
Even the simplest pleasures reflect the hotel’s approach to luxury. Moizan singles out the Club Sandwich at Café Antonia as a discreetly iconic signature — something to enjoy slowly in the Jardin Français. Another essential experience is to wander through this secluded garden hidden just behind the Faubourg Saint-Honoré façade, before stopping at L’Épicerie for Maxence Barbot’s celebrated flan.
Preserving the Soul of a Great Hotel
For Moizan, what ultimately defines a great hotel is continuity. It is created by teams who remain for decades, passing on their expertise, traditions and values to those who arrive after them. At Le Bristol, this culture of transmission is central to the Maison, and Chef Arnaud Faye embodies it particularly well through the way he trains and develops his kitchen brigades with the same passion he brings to his cuisine.
A truly great hotel, in this philosophy, remembers a face, a conversation and an emotion. It does not need to impress through spectacle at every turn. Instead, it has the ability to surprise gently and naturally, making each return feel both familiar and new.
As Le Bristol Paris begins its second century, Fabrice Moizan takes on the responsibility of preserving precisely this delicate balance: heritage without stagnation, excellence without ostentation, and luxury built not only around beautiful surroundings and impeccable service, but above all around people and the memories they create.
