Eurasian Fashion Week SS27:

The 12th season of Eurasian Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 has concluded in Almaty. Held on October 22–23 at The Ritz-Carlton Almaty under the theme “SYNERGY”, the two-day programme brought together designers from Kazakhstan, Europe and Asia, emerging talents and social projects. This season explored the interaction of different cultures, aesthetics and generations — from contemporary interpretations of heritage to international fashion and new approaches to inclusivity.

The first day brought together ten brands and designers with distinctly different creative languages. Monaco-based designer AYSINA presented SANS RAISON, a collection built around freedom of self-expression and contrasting combinations of lace, chiffon, velvet and leather. Turkish menswear brand KETROY focused on precise tailoring, Italian fabrics and contemporary classics, while Thai duo EVERYWEEK OUTFIT introduced WOVEN LIGHT, translating the textile heritage of Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand into modern silhouettes, draping and shimmering surfaces. ARAI BEKTURSUN presented PINK OCTOBER, using structured silhouettes and a deliberately strong aesthetic to address resilience and support for the global breast cancer awareness movement. SUN SERGIO’s GARDEN BAROQUE explored nature through organic forms and expressive silhouettes, while HUSL by Islambek Sharipov turned to Kazakh identity in the ALASH collection. Belarusian designer VIKTORYIA ZAYATS presented “Rose of the Winds”, inspired by landscapes, travel, earth and water. South Korean brand DAILY MIRROR, led by Kim Ju Han, continued its exploration of masculine and feminine codes, structure and softness. DELICIA turned to eveningwear and the atmosphere of formal social occasions, while Polish brand HECTOR & KARGER closed the international line-up with a Spring/Summer 2027 collection combining references to the 1980s, architectural silhouettes, classic tailoring and a contemporary interpretation of femininity.

International participation was one of the key elements of the season. DAILY MIRROR’s creative director Kim Ju Han is a regular participant in Seoul Fashion Week, while the brand has also appeared on international platforms and in publications including Vogue Korea, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, WWD, Hypebeast and i-D. Thai designers Monsikarn Pitoonkitjar and Kurisara Jiwhanang of EVERYWEEK OUTFIT brought the visual culture of their native Chiang Mai into a contemporary context, while Poland’s HECTOR & KARGER arrived with experience at international fashion platforms including London Fashion Week and Fashion Week Poland. Their designs have previously been worn by Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and Rita Ora.

Rita Ora.

The second day shifted the focus towards Kazakh cultural codes, emerging designers and social initiatives. The Ethno Fashion Day programme featured TAMYR Fashion House with the premiere collection “ARMAN ZHOLDARY” (“Paths of Dreams”) by Dinara Aralbayeva and Zhanar Dzhagaltayeva, interpreting dreams, roots and Kazakh cultural identity through contemporary fashion; ALIA ZHUMAN’s ZHUMAN connected national heritage with a modern vision of femininity and strength; and NURASEM combined restrained tailoring, oversized jackets, long coats and layering with tonal interpretations of traditional ornament. The programme also introduced the finalists of the ZHAS ORKEN competition from Almaty Technological University, while the Fashion for Future final presented emerging designers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Iran.

One of the central social projects of the season was Eurasian Fashion Week × Pink October and the documentary fashion performance-manifesto “HAUTE COUTURE 15:53”. Ten women who had undergone treatment and recovery from breast cancer stepped onto the runway. Rather than focusing on illness itself, the project centred on the women, their individuality, self-acceptance, resilience and the experience of rebuilding a sense of identity after a difficult period in life.

Fashion for Future continued the fashion week’s work with emerging designers. The international competition brought together finalists Dinara Sailaubayeva, Daria Polyakova from Russia, Kulpunay Mukambetova and Begayym Samar kyzy from Kyrgyzstan, Nazerke Talipbay, Assel Khussainova, Togzhan Bakitova, Dilnaz Bektayeva, Syrganym Kenzhebek, Nazerke Temirbek and Sevda Alizadeh from Iran. The finalists presented their work to an industry jury, with Italian fashion and design expert Giovanni Ottonello among its members.

Ottonello, art director and professor at the European Institute of Design (IED), was a special guest of the 12th season. Alongside his work on the Fashion for Future jury, he held a workshop at the T. K. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, sharing his experience in fashion and luxury trends, design and the development of commercial fashion products.

Another part of the programme was Kids Fashion Day, featuring INZHUBABY, RODASOLEIL, SPECIAL HEARTS, ROZAMIRA, Aisha Omar, KOTOFEY and IQ Collection by Besmertnova. Children with developmental differences and those who have faced serious illnesses shared the runway with other participants, continuing the project’s focus on inclusion, self-expression and equal opportunities.

Ещё одной частью программы стал Kids Fashion Day с участием INZHUBABY, RODASOLEIL, SPECIAL HEARTS, ROZAMIRA, Аиши Омар, KOTOFEY и IQ Collection by Besmertnova.

Across two days, the idea of “SYNERGY” was interpreted in very different ways: through the meeting of Asian and European fashion with Kazakh design, through contemporary readings of cultural heritage, through established brands and first collections, and through projects in which the runway became a space not only for clothes, but also for personal stories and social dialogue.
