On February 16 at 7:00 PM, the stage of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Philharmonic will host the ballet company of the State Academic Dance Theatre, presenting the gala ballet New Names to Almaty audiences — an evening that resonates as a manifesto of youth and, at the same time, a respectful bow to tradition and time. New Names is a concert where artists work for their name so that, one day, the name will work for them. The gala ballet is built as a dialogue — between generations and styles. The audience will see fragments of world classics alongside contemporary choreographic interpretations, where academic precision and the search for new movement, recognizable technique and the Bulat Ayukhanov school merge with the performers’ individual artistic voices.
16 февраля в 19:00 на сцене Казахской государственной филармонии им. Жамбыла балетная труппа Государственного академического театра танца представит алматинской публике гала-балет «Новые имена» — вечер, который звучит как манифест молодости и как уважительный поклон традициям и времени. «Новые имена» — концерт, где артисты работают на имя, чтобы однажды имя работало на них. Гала-балет строится по принципу диалога — между поколением и стилем. Зритель увидит фрагменты мировой классики и современные хореографические решения, где академическая точность и поиск новой пластики, узнаваемая техника и школа Булата Аюханова сольются с индивидуальной манерой выступления артистов.

The evening’s repertoire presents a “golden collection” of classical and contemporary ballet, featuring excerpts from Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty — works that have long become part of the global cultural code. Among the highlights is the pas de deux Venetian Carnival from the ballet Satanilla, as well as a number from Ludwig Minkus’ Don Quixote, a performance invariably associated with темпераment and sparkle. The variations and pas de deux included in the program reveal how young dancers continue the legacy of the great master. The program also features variations from Adolphe Adam’s Le Corsaire and a piece from The Flames of Paris. A special place is reserved for Sabre Dance from Aram Khachaturian’s ballet Gayaneh, performed by the male ensemble of the company.

Чайковского «Щелкунчик» и «Спящая красавица», па-де-де «Венецианский карнавал» из балета «Сатанилла», номер из балета Л. Минкуса «Дон-Кихот», вариации из балета А. Адана «Корсар» и фрагмент из постановки «Пламени Парижа». Отдельной строкой в программе стоит «Танец с саблями» из балета «Гаяне» Арама Хачатуряна в исполнении мужского состава балета.

Particular interest is drawn to the pieces Quanamin and Petroglyphs, where classical choreography and national color are woven into a contemporary stage interpretation. The recognizable academic school preserves clarity of line and plastic culture, while thematic imagery and musical accents lend the program a distinctive local character. The stage will feature young ballet artists Minami Watanabe, Nur Dulatuly, Asylbek Ismail, Symbat Maksut, Aliya Kurabayeva, Islam Turganov, Baglan Tekesbayev, Polina Kim, Orymkul Nurdana, Ayanat Yerbolatova, Margarita Ivanova, Adeliya Akilbayeva, Abzalkhan Almaganbet, Shamshi Dulat, Sani Bertoleyeva, Ardak Tamenova, Aruzhan Bektaliyeva, Karima Meermanova, Aisha Kaspakbayeva, and Botagoz Bulatova. The concert also brings together acclaimed masters of the stage — Ainur Mukasheva, Madi Kassymov, Yulia Asenkhanova, and Diyar Akenev.

The artists of the ballet company set the scale and create a sense of continuity, where young performers have the opportunity to work side by side with established masters — those who have already walked the path of building a name and understand the value of stage resilience. In such encounters, applause is not the only thing that matters; precision in dialogue with the audience is equally important. Today, contemporary choreography expands boundaries, while classical ballet remains eternally immortal — and it is the meeting of these two forces that shapes the atmosphere of the evening and extends the horizons of what is seen.
