Grace Wales Bonner Appointed as Hermès Men’s Artistic Director

The French luxury house Hermès has officially announced the appointment of Grace Wales Bonner, the acclaimed British designer, as its new Artistic Director of Menswear, reports Vogue Business. Her highly anticipated debut collection is scheduled to be unveiled in January 2027.

Wales Bonner will succeed Véronique Nichanian, who has held the role for an extraordinary 37 years. Nichanian’s final show for the Maison will take place during Paris Fashion Week in January 2026, after which Hermès will skip the June presentations.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Wales Bonner founded her eponymous label in 2014, and quickly rose to prominence through her refined, intellectual approach to menswear and her collaborations with Adidas. Her accolades include the LVMH Prize (2016) and the CFDA International Designer of the Year (2021).

While taking on her new role, the designer will continue developing her own brand, maintaining its independent voice alongside her work at Hermès. Her first collection for the French Maison is already being regarded as one of the most anticipated debuts of 2027, alongside Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first collection for Fendi.
