Aviata breaks records: the automatic process of exchange and return on the service has reached a record scale for the CIS

Aviata, a Kazakhstani service for online booking and purchase of air and railway tickets, together with a key technology partner, Amadeus, have automated the process of returning and exchanging air tickets. Now any user of the service can return or exchange tickets independently in the mobile application or on the Aviata.kz website. Aviata, together with Amadeus, became the first in the CIS to launch automatic ticket exchange, as a result of which the level of automatically processed exchange and refund requests today is 70% of all transactions, which is a record figure for the CIS.

Prior to the introduction of automation, a user could spend more than 2 hours to return or exchange tickets, since this process was carried out manually. The user sent a request for a refund or exchange of a ticket by e-mail or by phone, after which the agent studied the request and information about the ticket, counted the cost to be returned or found a suitable ticket for exchange, sent the information to the user and waited for him to confirm the operation, then manually issued a refund/exchange of tickets. Now this process takes no more than 2 minutes, and all the user needs is to enter their personal account in the mobile application or on the Aviata.kz website, leave a request, receive a real-time calculation of the amount to be refunded or the amount of the surcharge, and confirm the operation. Returns or exchanges are processed automatically.

Since 2019, Aviata, together with Amadeus, has been systematically moving towards the introduction of automated ticket refund and exchange, without the participation of agents. At the first stage, Aviata optimized the personal account by adding "Return" and "Exchange" buttons. After the completion of the first stage, the company launched the process of automating returns, and this procedure began to take less time, which was very important for users, especially during the pandemic. The final stage was the automation of a more complex process - the exchange of tickets. This functionality significantly accelerated the processing of user applications, allowing them in most cases not to waste time waiting.

Aviata looks to the future with enthusiasm, constantly working to improve its own product. The company, following its mission, will continue to create technologies to bring people and cultures closer together.
