International Exhibition «Childhood Scorched by War» opened in Almaty

Международная выставка «Детство, опаленное войной» открылась в Алматы

On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Rossotrudnichestvo in the city of Almaty presented a unique exhibition of several dozen duplicate documentary photos.

К 76-ой годовщине Победы в Великой Отечественной войне Россотрудничество в городе Алматы представило уникальную экспозицию нескольких десятков дубликатов документальных фото.

From 1 to 15 May, guests and residents of the cultural capital can view photocopies of frames showing the tragic fate of the children of the war. In the public domain, near the fence of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty, the photographs show the lives of millions of children who have witnessed a terrible catastrophe.

С 1 по 15 мая гости и жители культурной столицы могут ознакомиться с фотокопиями кадров, демонстрирующих трагическую судьбу детей войны. В открытом доступе у изгороди Генерального консульства Российской Федерации в Алматы на снимках представлена жизнь миллионов детей, ставших свидетелями чудовищной катастрофы.

They knew how it was before the war, heard bombs and shells exploding, saw the death of relatives and children of the same kind, knew the taste of bread made from sawdust and coffee made from acorns. They recorded exercises at school on old newspapers and, on a par with adults, stood at the machine and fought, many concentration camp prisoners' numbers were knocked out, someone survived the blockade of Leningrad or the tragedy of Stalingrad.

Они знали, как было до войны, слышали, как рвутся бомбы и снаряды, видели гибель родных и таких же детей, знали вкус хлеба из опилок и кофе из желудей. Записывали в школе упражнения на старых газетах и наравне со взрослыми стояли у станка и воевали, у многих выколоты номера узников концлагеря, кто-то пережил блокаду Ленинграда или трагедию Сталинграда.

The reality of children of war, diaries, drawings, toys and belief in Victory - everything has been preserved in the photo and remains as a reminder that it should not happen again.

Реальность детей войны, дневники, рисунки, игрушки и вера в Победу – все сохранилось на фото и остается, как напоминание о том, что не должно повториться.

As Tatyana Baryshnikova, Deputy Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted: “Today the fourth generation of descendants of children who survived the Great Patriotic War is growing up. And it is our duty to remember everything that children and adults had to endure, who suffered the hardships and hardships of World War II. To remember those who were forever carried away by the war, to remember those who did not break down and until the very end believed in victory, which, many decades later, remains in our hearts. Congratulations on Victory Day, we wish you peace, bright days, joy and happiness to you and your children! "

Как отметила заместитель руководителя представительства Россотрудничества в Республике Казахстан Татьяна Барышникова: «Сегодня подрастает четвертое поколение потомков детей, переживших Великую Отечественную войну. И наш долг – помнить все, что пришлось пережить детям и взрослым, на чью долю выпали тяготы и лишения Второй мировой. Помнить тех, кого навеки унесла война, помнить тех, кто не сломился и до последнего верил в победу, которая спустя много десятилетий остается в сердцах. Поздравляем с Днем Победы, желаем мира, светлых дней, радости и счастья вам и вашим детям!»

The exhibition was prepared by the ROO-PVVS "Officers' Club" and ANO "Keepers of Times" on the basis of photocopies of museum items with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo.
