Asia NOW 2026: глобальный диалог современного искусства возвращается в Париж

The 12th edition of Asia NOW continues to strengthen its position as an international platform connecting contemporary artistic practices from across Asia and beyond. Returning to La Monnaie de Paris, the fair brings together established galleries, new participants, ambitious curatorial projects and a public programme built around cultural exchange and human connection.

Among the returning galleries are Esther Schipper from Paris and Berlin, Kaikai Kiki Gallery from Tokyo, Sabrina Amrani from Madrid, Loy Contemporary from Singapore and The Drawing Room from Manila. At the same time, the 2026 edition expands its geography with several newcomers, including Bangkok’s VER Gallery, co-founded by Rirkrit Tiravanija, Double Square from Taipei and New York-based Lux Feminae.

The fair also enters into a dialogue with the wider international art scene. Tala from Chicago will present previously unseen works by Jon Cuyson, while THE Gallery from Bamberg will showcase works by Nomin Bold, echoing both artists’ presence at the Venice Biennale. Whitestone Gallery, Spazio Nobile and HdM Gallery are also represented through key works and projects.

One of the defining elements of this edition is The Third Space, a programme that moves beyond the traditional art-fair booth and extends into the corridors, vestibules and transitional spaces of La Monnaie de Paris. Inspired by theorist Homi Bhabha’s concept of cultural hybridity, it explores what happens when cultures meet, overlap and transform one another.

The Third Space will feature 19 individual artist projects, giving participating galleries greater freedom to experiment and take curatorial risks while responding directly to the architecture and history of the venue.

Asia NOW 2026 also extends beyond the exhibition halls through installations, cinema and live performances. Making its Paris debut, the Nirmiti Collective will unveil a specially commissioned architectural structure rooted in craftsmanship and cultural memory, supported by the Kalhath Foundation as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

The public programme further expands the fair’s international perspective. Curator Alia Swastika presents Vessels of Memory, featuring ten artists from Biennale Jogja, while a collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center marks 140 years of French-Korean friendship and brings contemporary Korean artistic practices into the shared space.
