One of the most internationally celebrated sculptors — from France to Spain, from the United States to Kazakhstan — Jaume Plensa (Barcelona, 1955) takes over the spaces of Galerie Lelong in Paris for just over a month.

In the first space, located on Rue de Téhéran, five serene heads with closed eyes and caressing hands emerge from five blocks of alabaster. They seem to float in a liminal space of peaceful, gentle slumber. What do they dream of? It is hard to tell, but their stillness feels like a refuge far from the violence of the world. These faces are a recurring leitmotif in Plensa’s work. Some appear again in Murano glass or throughout his drawings on paper, a quiet chorus of contemplation.

On Avenue Matignon, the exhibition continues with works exploring the same theme of head and hand, this time rendered in oxidized cast iron or bronze painted white. No matter the material, each piece radiates a profound sense of inner peace. The gesture of the crossed hand over the heart seems to whisper a universal message: “love more, love better.”

На авеню Матьиньон тема головы и руки продолжена — но теперь в отлитых из окисленного чугуна или окрашенных в белый бронзовых скульптурах. Независимо от материала, из каждой работы исходит глубокое чувство внутреннего покоя. Жест перекрещенной на сердце руки словно шепчет универсальное послание: «любите больше, любите лучше».
