Gold, reflection of sun, light, heat, gold like energy, and life, gold is the color par excellence to embellish. Yves Saint Laurent immediately understood his power, didn't he want, from the age of 15, to write his name in gold letters on the Champs Élysées. His adventure began timidly with small touches: braids, embroidery, jeweled buttons (blue woolen coat and golden buttons in 1962) to end with an explosion (Sarcophagus dress in homage to Cleopatra - fall winter 1966-67 haute couture collection or jumpsuit for Sylvie Vartan 1972). Meanwhile, little by little gold reigns thanks to effects of materials: lamé, brocade, leather, the use of embroidery techniques, braids and quilting, the alliance with other colors. Again and again, the couturier expresses feminine power, not letting her shine only at night but also during the day, especially if she seizes her jewelry created by Loulou de La Falaise from 1972.

Между тем золото понемногу властвует благодаря эффектам материалов: ламе, парче, коже, использованию техник вышивки, тесьмы и квилтинга, союзу с другими цветами. Снова и снова кутюрье выражает женскую силу, позволяя ей сиять не только ночью, но и днем, особенно если она берет в руки свои украшения, созданные Лулу де Ла Фалез в 1972 году.
