"Bissakarak" Imane Ayissi Couture Spring–Summer 2026

Imane Ayissi's Couture Spring-Summer 2026 collection is called Bissakarak, a word from the Ewondo language, one of the languages of Cameroon and the designer's native language, which means "doodle", "first sketch", that very suspended moment when the hand is just trying, groping for shape.

In Ewondo, one of the languages spoken in Cameroon and the mother tongue of Imane Ayissi, “Bissakarak” means a scribble, a first draft, that suspended moment when the hand tries something.
