Gold has always been a leitmotif for Guerlain, from the creation of the Bee Bottle (1853), where each insect is covered in gold leaf, to the present day with the use of ORchidée Imperiale Gold Nobile, and the creation of a gold bow tie for Vaslav Nijinsky in honor of the ballet "The Golden Cockerel" or ORphin, the brand's perfume production site.

In honor of the Paris Olympics, Guerlain celebrates gold within its historic boutique on the Champs Élysées. Visitors can admire historical pieces like Yves Klein's table, photographs by Georges Rousse, Pierre and Gilles, or Martin Parr with his heap of gold bars, as well as contemporary works such as Isabel Muñoz's "Odalisque" and a captivating video of an 11th-century manuscript written in gold letters discovered in the foot of a Buddha statue by scientific artist Rodolphe von Gombergh.
