Exclusive footage from the Kazakh-Spanish project for Netflix was shown at Comic Con Astana

Official footage from the film "Truce" (La Tregua), a co-production between Kazakhstan and Spain, filmed under the direction of Spanish director Miguel Angel Vivas, was presented on the main stage of the Comic Con Astana-2025 festival.

Официальные кадры из фильма «Перемирие» (La Tregua) — копродукции Казахстана и Испании, снятой под руководством испанского режиссёра Мигеля Анхеля Виваса — представили на главной сцене фестиваля Comic Con Astana-2025.

This project will be the first Kazakh film for worldwide distribution and the global streaming service Netflix. "Truce" will tell the tragic story of Karlag, a camp where victims of Soviet repression were held.

Этот проект станет первым казахстанским фильмом для мирового проката и глобального стримингового сервиса Netflix. «Перемирие» расскажет трагическую историю Карлага — лагеря, где содержались жертвы советских репрессий.

"Truce" (La Tregua) is a film created by a joint Kazakh-Spanish team. Director Miguel Angel Vivas is known for his work in the cult series "Paper Heist" (La Casa de Papel), the post-apocalyptic thriller Extinction with Matthew Fox, as well as the horror Inside.

«Перемирие» (La Tregua) – картина, созданная совместной казахстанско-испанской командой. Режиссер Мигель Анхель Вивас известен работами в культовом сериале «Бумажный дом» (La Casa de Papel), постапокалиптическом  триллере Extinction («Вымирание») с участием Мэттью Фокса, а также хорроре Inside («Внутри»).

The film stars Miguel Herrán (Money Heist) and Aron Piper (Élite), actors who have gained worldwide fame thanks to Netflix original projects. Kazakh actors participating in the project are Dina Tasbulatova, Sergey Ufimtsev, Altynai Nogerbek and Farabi Akkozov.

В фильме снялись Мигель Эрран («Бумажный дом») и Арон Пипер («Élite») — актёры, которые получили мировую известность благодаря оригинальным проектам Netflix. Казахстанские актеры, участвующие в проекте –  Дина Тасбулатова, Сергей Уфимцев, Алтынай Ногербек и Фараби Аккозов.

The executive producer of the project is Emilio A. Pina. He has worked on more than 20 projects, including the series Missing, The Incident and others. Pina is also the organizer of five Goya ceremonies, the national film award of Spain.

Исполнительным продюсером проекта стал Эмилио А. Пина. Он работал более чем над 20 проектами, в том числе – над сериалами «Пропавшие без вести», «Инцидент» и другими. Также Пина является организатором пяти церемоний «Гойя» – национальной кинопремии Испании. 

The film takes place in Kazakhstan from 1937 to 1945 in Karlag, where prisoners from all over the world were held.

Действие фильма происходит в Казахстане в 1937-1945 годы в  Карлаге, где содержались заключенные со всего мира. 

The story centers on two Spaniards who found themselves on opposite sides of the civil war, and a Kazakh intellectual who strives to preserve humanity in inhumane conditions.

В центре истории — два испанца, оказавшихся по разные стороны гражданской войны, и казахский интеллигент, стремящийся сохранить человечность в нечеловеческих условиях. 

The film raises themes of historical memory, personal choice and fortitude. Through the destinies of the characters, "Truce" tells the story of how solidarity, compassion and culture have embraced millions of people, making Kazakhstan their second home.

Фильм поднимает темы исторической памяти, личного выбора и силы духа. Через судьбы героев «Перемирие» рассказывает о том, как солидарность, сострадание и культура приняли миллионы людей, сделав Казахстан их второй родиной. 

Exclusive footage from the film was shown at the festival. The icy Kazakh steppe opens up before the audience, a merciless wind throws snow pellets into the exhausted faces of people who were essentially brought to a concentration camp. The Soviet government decided to punish them for daring to disagree with something, expressing their opinion too freely or becoming victims of denunciations. People were brought here to get rid of them. The film in dark gray tones leaves a feeling of hopelessness and senselessness of the struggle.

На фестивале показали эксклюзивные кадры из фильма. Перед зрителями открывается заледенелая казахская степь, безжалостный ветер бросает снежную крупу в изможденные лица людей, которых привезли по сути в концентрационный лагерь. Их советская власть решила наказать за то, что посмели с чем-то не согласиться, слишком свободно высказали свое мнение или оказались жертвами доносов. Людей привезли сюда, чтобы избавиться от них. Картина в мрачных серых тонах оставляет ощущение безнадежности и бессмысленности борьбы. 

The film is currently in the final stages of post-production. Preparatory work is underway on dubbing into Russian and Kazakh.

В настоящее время фильм находится на финальной стадии постпродакшна. Идет подготовительный этап для работы над дубляжом на русский и казахский языки. 

The premiere is scheduled for late autumn - winter 2025, and in September the film will be presented out of competition at the San Sebastian Film Festival (Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián).

Премьера запланирована на конец осени — зиму 2025 года, а в сентябре фильм будет представлен вне конкурса на кинофестивале в Сан-Себастьяне (Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián).

We will add that the "Truce" project was implemented as part of the first international cooperation between the Spanish film company Plano a Plano and the Kazakh companies Amanat Capital and UMAI FILM.

On the Spanish side, the project is being produced by producers Cesar Benitez, Emilio Amare and Emilio A. Pina, who have extensive experience in creating audiovisual content. Amanat Konakbayev is the general producer of the film from the Kazakh side.

Со стороны Испании за проект отвечают продюсеры Цезарь Бенитес, Эмилио Амаре и Эмилио А. Пина, обладающие богатым опытом в создании аудиовизуального контента. Генеральным продюсером фильма от казахстанской стороны выступает Аманат Конакбаев. 

The production team also includes Dair Karakeyev, Dauren Baigaliev, and UMAIFILM producers Zharaskhan Kulpienov and Aliya Dalabaeva.

В состав продюсерской группы также входят Даир Каракеев, Даурен Байгалиев, продюсеры компании UMAIFILM — Жарасхан Кульпиенов и Алия Далабаева. 

The Kazakhstan team is coordinated by the famous media manager, journalist and producer Erlan Bekkhozhin.

Comic Con Astana-2025 is the largest pop culture festival in Central Asia and the CIS. This year, for the first time, it is held over 5 days from July 9 to 13 at two venues: Astana Arena and Barys Arena.

Comic Con Astana-2025 – крупнейший фестиваль поп-культуры в Центральной Азии и СНГ. В этом году он впервые проходит в течение 5 дней с 9 по 13 июля на двух площадках: «Астана Арена» и «Барыс Арена».

Over the first three days, the festival was visited by about 43.5 thousand people: 13.5 thousand on the first day, 15.5 thousand on the second and 14.5 thousand on the third.

За первые три дня фестиваль посетили порядка 43,5 тыс. человек: 13,5 тыс. — в первый день, 15,5 тыс. — во второй и 14,5 тыс. — в третий.
