Variety and Rich Imagination
Fashion industry representatives in Central Asia await the autumn exhibition season with special anticipation, as it hosts the Eliteline International Exhibition of Shoes, Fur, Leather, and Accessories. For the seventh time, it serves as a catalyst for the growth and development of the region's fur and footwear industry. Euro Shoes has remained a steadfast strategic partner of the exhibition for several years; thanks to this collaboration, an industry association has formed in Central Asia that gathers leading market players and provides broad opportunities to successfully overcome the challenging global situation. During the Autumn 2026 season, supported by Eliteline and Euro Shoes, 11 footwear brands from Russia, China, and Turkey showcased their product lines in the pavilions of the Atakent IEC.
Special attention was paid to the fur segment. The exposition brought together over 20 companies presenting current collections and key industry trends. Some participants exhibited as part of the Turkish Organic Apparel Manufacturers Association (OGSD). Individual exhibitors arrived from China, further expanding the section's geography and emphasizing the international status of the exhibition.
The Chinese footwear brand Ninety Nine Shoes, making its debut at the Eliteline exhibition, generated serious interest among buyers. A similar response was received by the Kirov Region Export Support Center with the "Lel" footwear brand and the headwear brand H-DRESS, which has participated in CAF and Eliteline for several seasons. The H-DRESS headwear brand caught buyers' attention with its creative approach to enhancing headwear: classic hat and cap styles were complemented by original detachable details featuring ornaments characteristic of Central Asian peoples. This versatility emphasized respect for the regional audience and demonstrated the designers' rich imagination and creative approach to the event.
At the grand opening ceremony, CATEXPO Director Metin Arslan expressed special gratitude to all project participants and organizers for continuously moving forward despite all challenges: "Welcome to Almaty and Kazakhstan! Why do I say this? Because among our exhibitors and buyers there are many guests from other cities and countries, which is especially valuable to us in these difficult times when much is becoming more complicated and changing. But despite everything, we continue to move forward, continue to work, not only overcoming difficulties but also striving to create something new. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all our partners, participants, guests, and everyone involved in preparing the exhibitions. Without you, all of this would not be possible."
Ekrem Alper Bozkurt, Trade Attaché of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazakhstan, shared information that Turkey ranks 5th in Kazakhstan's total export volume and 7th in imports: "If at the beginning of the 1990s the volume of mutual trade was 100 million dollars, by 2025 it reached more than 5.5 billion according to Kazakh calculations, and about 10 billion dollars according to Turkish calculations. Our goal is to increase bilateral trade turnover in the short term up to 10 billion dollars, including through projects like CAF and Eliteline."
Suat Öztürk, a member of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (İHKİB), recalled that İHKİB has been participating in the exhibition since 2015: "The association, uniting more than 25,000 members, implements a wide range of significant projects aimed at increasing the added value of Turkish companies' exports and strengthening their competitiveness in global markets. The Central Asia Fashion and Eliteline exhibitions are undoubtedly among the key events in the region, holding great importance for promoting the Turkish fashion industry in Central Asian countries. We have participated continuously since 2015, and if we started with just 10 companies at the beginning, today we can speak of scale: 43 companies from the ready-to-wear sector, 15 companies from the leather and fur sector, and 2 companies from the footwear sector. In total, these are 60 companies demonstrating Turkey's potential. We are confident that the Autumn 2026/2027 season will become a new growth point and open additional opportunities for developing international cooperation."
Ali Yavuz Boynukısa, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Organic Apparel Manufacturers Association (OGSD), stated that the leather and fur segment is represented at the exhibitions by 15 companies: "It is a great honor for us to be in Kazakhstan—a brotherly country for us—and we are glad that Turkish companies' products are in high demand in Central Asia. In the fur industry, Turkey ranks third in the world in export volume and is also among the leaders in production."
Yan Belyaev, General Director of the Russian National Footwear Union, wished all participants and visitors fruitful cooperation: "Exhibitions are not just business; they are communication, experience exchange, joy, and inspiration. Euro Shoes has been cooperating with the Central Asia Fashion exhibition for five years, and with each season this partnership only strengthens and expands. Today, many international companies are represented here, including footwear brands from Turkey, Germany, Italy, and Russia, which confirms the high status of the exhibition and its significance for the industry."
"Self-Confident and Free"
For the first time at the opening ceremony of the Central Asia Fashion and Eliteline exhibitions, a fashion show of a new collection by renowned Kazakh designer Nail Baikuchukov (NAIYL brand) took place. Nail Baikuchukov is one of Central Asia's most recognizable evening and cocktail wear designers. On the CAF and Eliteline runway, he presented the "Lumière Éternelle" evening dress collection—an ode to femininity, light, and haute couture art. Architectural corsets that impeccably accentuate the silhouette, airy flowing skirts, luxurious trains, and filigree handcrafting are the signature features of every presented dress. The main highlight of the show was the debut participation of bloggers and influencers as models: beauty pageant winner Aday Isaeva, singer and former KeшYOU group soloist Lazzat Sultan, and Tatyana Mitina, founder of the international body correction center network and author of the unique SILUETICA method, took to the runway.
Nail Baikuchukov emphasized that "Lumière Éternelle" is a story about a woman who does not strive to attract attention because her presence already fills the space with light: "She is self-confident, free, and possesses an inner strength that cannot go unnoticed. I am glad we managed to showcase this collection specifically at the Central Asia Fashion and Eliteline exhibitions. Lately, I am seriously considering participating in them as an exhibitor in the future, because recently fashion shows and Fashion Weeks are attended mostly by bloggers and sensational publics, while buyers and customers are becoming fewer. As a result, we put on a show that brings no profit, and creating collections is famously expensive. At Central Asia Fashion, however, I saw the very format where buyers capable of delivering the product to their target audience are specifically invited. Perhaps other designers will think about this too. Such projects can give Kazakh designers a new round of development."

Rationality, Seasonlessness, Layering
Presentations by representatives of the "Style Session" Image Stylists Community, which have become an integral part of the business program, invariably attract great interest from CAF and Eliteline visitors. For the new Autumn 2026 season, the program included a unique professional purchasing assistance format called "Stylist for an Hour" and 6 master classes covering fashion trends, buyer psychotypes, profit-generating social media strategies, and selling capsule assortments. The program aimed to deliver practical knowledge that can be implemented to benefit one's business immediately after the event.
Madi Bekdair, an internationally practicing image stylist, founder of the Conceptual Stylists School and the "Style Session" Image Stylists Community, speaking at the opening ceremony, highlighted the Autumn-2026 season's novelty—the trend zone: "This year, I want to draw your attention to the new Trend Box art space. This is a vibrant and inspiring project where 'Style Session' image stylists presented the future trends of 2027 through visual exhibits and installations. According to the organizers' creative vision and with their support, we were able to vividly demonstrate key future trends through looks, styles, and conceptual solutions."
Madi Bekdair successfully conducted a series of master classes dedicated to Autumn-Winter 2026/2027 trends and buyer psychotypes, and also delivered a substantive lecture in the Show Area on "Managing Customer Loyalty and Value in the Fashion Business," prepared exclusively for Central Asia Fashion. The core message of his presentation was revealing the contemporary principle: today, a client purchases not merely a product or service, but the feeling of who they become alongside the brand. They choose spaces and companies where they are understood, felt, and inspired. Within the lecture, Madi Bekdair presented practical recommendations and a set of tools to integrate this approach into fashion business operations and effectively build long-term customer relationships.
The famous stylist noted that the first trend of the upcoming season is undoubtedly rationality: "Amid economic instability, it becomes a marker of consumer behavior. People are rethinking the value of possessions and rejecting ostentation; practicality and value are now prized. Psychologically, this trend reflects the desire to regain a sense of control over one's life and resources, where mindful consumption becomes not a forced measure, but a new social norm and an expression of maturity. The second trend is seasonlessness. Warmer winters, cooler summers, and unpredictable weather scenarios, which are becoming increasingly common in our lives, blur the traditional boundaries between seasons. Therefore, people increasingly choose versatile and layered looks rather than strict divisions into 'Autumn-Winter' and 'Spring-Summer' collections. Psychologically, this trend reflects a person's desire to adapt to a world where stability yields to flexibility. And the third trend is imperfection. This is our response to the visual fatigue caused by flawless images created by AI algorithms, smartphone filters, and the aesthetics of total control. Texture, imperfection, and signs of human involvement—raw edges, visible seams, crinkled fabrics, a mix of styles, and deliberate carelessness—are gaining increasing value. Imperfection is becoming a new form of luxury because it demonstrates freedom and allows individuals to express their individuality. Within these macro-trends, countless looks exist, and everyone can choose something close to their heart."
CAF Business Conference: Figures, Facts, Expert Opinions
The trend toward imperfection was also discussed at the business conference. During the session "Fashion Market of Kazakhstan and Central Asia 2026-2027: Key Trends Changing the Rules of the Game," Yaroslav Klochkov, creative director of the brand communications company "Glyph," noted that today every environment, including the visual one, is experiencing oversaturation: "Fashion is directly connected to visual perception: it is the first thing a person interacts with even before 'touching' the product. Due to information overload and perhaps some confusion about where to move next, the counter-trend is becoming increasingly noticeable—a return to the living, the simple, the handmade. The visual environment is overloaded, and consumers activate a kind of filter that cuts out the excess. As a result, even a strong product can go unnoticed simply because a person does not 'let it through' this filter. Today, a new reaction to content is forming: the simpler, the more noticeable. Natural presentation, light imperfection, live editing—all of this starts working more effectively than gloss-polished visuals. This does not mean that complex solutions are losing relevance. Every task has its own tool. However, the trend toward simplification is evident in many areas of life: right now, the simple is becoming the most expressive."
The Central Asia Fashion business conference gathers a broad audience every season interested in up-to-date information on social trends, finance, marketing, sales, and fashion directions. In the Autumn-2026 season, the Show Area hosted 5 expert sessions and one lecture featuring 31 experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. Among them were famous Kazakh designer and founder of the Kuralai Haute Couture House Kuralai Nurkadilova, and "Mrs. Kyrgyzstan-2026," head of the "Bravo" sewing factory Olesya Ladygina. The business conference host, PROfashion media holding's business program director Natalia Mironova, focused the program on vital topics regarding content marketing, commercially successful collection strategies, 2026-2027 fashion market trends in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and artificial intelligence. During the session "Fashion × AI: from Content to Sales," speakers examined in detail how artificial intelligence technologies are transforming the fashion industry and presented practical tools that businesses can integrate into their processes today. Particular attention was drawn to the fact that the AI topic was explored by experts of different generations, thereby emphasizing the versatility and necessity of implementing these technologies for all market players.
Addressing the most acute problem in the fashion market of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, Olga Strygina, founder of the Strygina brand "Rubashkino Tsarstvo," highlighted the shortage of qualified specialists: "Educated personnel are practically disappearing because the level of training in colleges remains extremely low. At the same time, the state is actively investing in the development of vocational education systems, including through participation in the international WorldSkills movement aimed at popularizing blue-collar professions. Educational institution facilities are often impressive, equipped with modern technology and significant budgets. However, in practice, these resources are not always used efficiently. Machinery sits idle because there are no specialists capable of fully operating it. As a result, the industry does not receive trained personnel upon graduation. I have been working with students since the early 2000s and can say that the situation is gradually worsening; basic knowledge in technology, materials science, and pattern making is lacking. This is a problem not only for Kazakhstan but for the entire region—Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Students come with varying backgrounds, but the general trend is obvious: a systematic professional foundation is lacking. Even talented youth often cannot realize their potential due to peculiarities of thinking, a lack of fundamental education, and the absence of systemic support. It is important to discuss these problems honestly so that the industry has a chance for qualitative changes."
