Pandemic, self-isolation, digital recession, Brexit… So many hurdles that the auction house was able to overcome in order to start a quick and profound change. While many feel helpless in the face of this protracted health situation, others like Christie's are walking away serenely at the prospect of a 100% digital year. And for good reason last December, the house recorded the second-largest online sale after Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry in 2011, which brought in a total of $144 million. However, if this big name at auctions began its digitization smoothly, then the Parisian market was not ready in March to adapt its calendar so radically. Very quickly, the team reorganized and adapted to these new constraints, targeting the audacious digital success of Christie's in New York, which was posting compelling statistics for other international markets.
